Photo exhibition begins at MGR Chennai Central railway station

CHENNAI: Southern Railway has opened a photo exhibition at MGR Chennai Central railway station showcasing the achievements of business development units set up to boost freight traffic. The exhibition is open till Sunday.
The gallery highlights the various new streams of freight carried by trains including heavy machinery and automobiles from Walajabad, paddy from Doravari Chatram, chemical manure from Ranipet, carbon black and edible oil from Royapuram and others.The parcel cargo express trains are also featured.
Chennai division generated an additional revenue of Rs 39 crore from these initiatives which included capturing of new traffic.
